How Does Cryotherapy Work?
Minor skin imperfections like skin tags and warts are no longer routinely treated on the NHS.
At Polaris Pharmacy, we provide an affordable, medical-grade alternative using advanced CryoPen technology.
Cryotherapy is the process of using a hand held device which emits gas at extreme cold temperatures, with millimetre precision to freeze skin lesions. This causes the unwanted cells to die, leaving the body's natural healing process to regenerate new healthy skin cells over time.
We offer a free consultation to discuss any aspects or concerns of your treatment plan.
What We Can Treat
At Polaris, we can treat the following skin conditions. Price start at £60 for the first lesion with multiple lesions treated at discounted price following a free consultation.

Cherry Angioma
Cherry Angiomas are common harmless lesions caused by tiny malformations in blood vessels. They are typically frozen for 5-10 seconds and usually dry up and disappear. Larger cherry angiomas may require a second dose.

Verrucae
Verrucas are caused by viruses invading skin cells and grow inwards as they are found on the feet. They are frozen for up to 30 seconds twice during one appointment. They often need a repeated dose.

Pigmentation
Hyper-pigmented areas of skin with excess melanin caused by a number of reasons such as age, the sun, and pregnancy. Skin pigmentation is frozen for 5 seconds to remove pigmentation resulting in minor crusting

Warts
Warts are similar to verrucas but grow outwards. They are also frozen for up to 30 seconds to kill the virus. This often results in blistering over the wart, which is part of the normal process.

Skin Tags
Skin tags are very common benign lesions made up of loose fibrous tissue. Skin tags are frozen for 5-20 seconds, then dry up and crust before coming away. This process can last a couple of days to weeks depending on the size.

Milia
Milia are tiny raised bumps containing keratin and often found on the face around the eyes. They usually flatten and vanish with a single treatment
